They are great. I tried them for a week:Cons: too tight on my head, the sound escaped too much, I could still hear people talking around mePros: I loved that it had a holder and that the cable can be detached from the headset itself.I ended up trading them in for the Sennheiser HD-280 Professional. So far I have found any cons with those.
Obviously, these two things pretty much come hand-in-hand, and I know of the technical difficulties in marrying sound quality and battery life with wireless capability, so I cannot really fault them.In conclusion, these are well worth the money if you are looking for a new set of headphones and I've no doubt that audiophiles will love them even more than I. I've heard from other reviewers that your music will bleed out (since they are open-air headphones) and others can hear your music, I would surmise that you'd need to turn them up pretty high for that to occur; no-one here at my workplace has told me that they can hear my music while I'm wearing them.If I had to point out any flaws, it would be that: A) they are not wireless, and B) they have no on-cable or on-headphone media controls. I could easily wear these all day long without any problems and they surround the ear instead of crushing it to my head like supra aural headphones. They are open-air headphones, which means that you'll still be able to hear things going on around you, especially while listening to your music at medium to low volume levels.
I don't have golden ears. The bass is good and strong, the highs are suitably high, and I've even heard a few new things in my old music that I've never heard before. The cable is plenty long, as opposed to a cheap pair of earbuds that only have a two foot of it, and it can be detached from the headphones, which is a nice touch. First of all, I am no audiophile.
They velvety-soft cups hug your head perfectly, along with the arch bridging the cups. Definitely recommended. I can barely even tell the difference on my home stereo where I have a 5.1 system now compared to when I had a 4.1 system.
Thus, you may want to take this review with a grain of salt. That said, I am very impressed with these headphones.
Superb build quality, feel very tough despite light weight. Great value here, sound terrific, smooth with excellent definition, standard unsurpassed Sennheiser comfort, and very lightweight. Thumbs up. I have owned other, more expensive Sennheisers and these hold their own very well. Especially good for acoustic music- jazz, blues, and orchestral- but will handle anything you throw at 'em. Easy to drive, even portable players and laptops will have no problem, although their large size and long standard cord probably make them better suited for home use.
They are very comfortable, and fit well over my large ears as well. Also, these look pretty unique, and they appear quite big and clunky, so they definitely aren't particularly discrete. Like the other reviews say, take the time to break these in. The only downside is the extra-long cord length, but that can be solved with a rubber band. Basically, you will look pretty silly walking down the street in these, but there's nothing wrong with that. I left mine on the included holder, with an ipod plugged in, for two straight days and they sounded fantastic afterwards. They really are a great pair of headphones, especially for the price, probably the best you can find.As far as the fit, my head is huge and they fit me great, and I'm sure if you have a normal head they fit even better.
Highly recommend this product to anyone who needs a pair headphones. I have now owned these pair of headphones for over a month now and they are awesome for the price. They are the best pair I have purchased in the last few years.
